Megan and Rudy have been together for over 8 years and are finally going to tie the knot! We first met this couple several years ago in the beginning of us starting Copper Hill Photography. We were shooting their friend’s wedding in Sedona, Maddie & Jacob. Since then Megan has mentioned how much she loved the photos we got of the two of them dancing at the reception. In those photos she looks so happy in Rudy’s arms, and it’s just gotten better since then. Megan’s sweet and bubbly personality will put a smile on anyone’s face, yet she lights up even more with Rudy by her side.
Megan and Rudy are no strangers to being in front of a camera, but in more of a professional way. You may recognize Megan’s friendly face from ABC15 Phoenix as an Enterprise & Investigative reporter and Rudy is more behind the scenes as a digital media editor at AZFamily CBS. Their love goes all the way back to college at ASU. He even proposed to Megan on the campus of Walter Cronkite School of Journalism where it all began.
They took the short drive from their hometown of Phoenix to meet us in Sedona for their engagement session. Sedona has a place in their hearts as the first place they went away together. We totally understand why couples retreat to this getaway. The unique landscape was showing signs of autumn approaching. The trees changing color is something you don’t get to experience in the desert. It is a nice change of pace to get fresh air, cool water from the creek, and that crinkle of leaves under your feet rather than the noise of city life.
Even though they prefer finding the local cuisines and wines of towns they visit, they bravely went on an adventure in nature with us. Some of it even barefoot. They tip toed barefoot across the rapids of Oak Creek to get to the most dreamy spot among the boulders. Teamwork got them across, with a gentle yet assuring hand from Rudy to help steady the way. All you could hear was the babbling water, and every so often Megan’s sweet laugh from Rudy nuzzling her.
The sun quickly fell below the horizon, and for these few minutes between daylight and darkness Cathedral Rock changes color against the deep blue sky. It was a magical few minutes to end their dreamy engagement along Oak Creek.
We can’t wait for your wedding next spring at the new addition to Superstition Manor. The next few months will fly by, cherish this time of being engaged.
